Sales Engineer, Americas

We are looking for a Sales Engineer with a primary focus in the Americas region to join us at a pivotal time in The Floow’s evolution, to help us deliver best-in-class telematics solutions to the international Insurance market.

The Floow is uniquely positioned as a provider of smartphone, physical device and OEM data solutions for driving behaviour profiling and management of automotive risk, as part of our drive to make mobility safer and smarter for everyone.

You will provide technical expertise and insights within our commercial function, working closely with our sales executives to ensure that we offer the best solutions to the underlying needs of our clients and prospects. You will collaborate strongly with our engineering and product functions to ensure clients are maximally aligned with all the capabilities of our solutions they could benefit from and will reciprocally bring the clients perspective to those functions.

Previous experience in client-facing roles and a strong foundation in scientific and technical solutions are essential. The Sales Engineer roles outlined here will particularly suit candidates who enjoy explaining complex technical solutions to non-technical audiences and bringing the context available from those non-technical stakeholders to the wider software engineering field.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting sales executives in selling The Floow’s solutions to clients and prospects in the Americas region
  • Technical guidance to sales executives, clients and prospects on the capabilities of The Floow’s products
  • Preparation and presentation of high level solution design and data flows to support the client’s understanding of how a solution will work for them
  • Ongoing alignment of the solution being sold with the deliverable solutions available
  • Maintaining technical relationships with clients
  • Managing client technical requirements
  • Partnering with colleagues to ensure smooth solution delivery
  • Effectively communicating client needs to the business for future product enhancements

About you

Essential

  • Strong technical background, with software engineering experience
  • Strong problem solving abilities, including experience of listening to client desires and concerns and recommending solutions accordingly
  • Strong numeracy and data analysis skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with senior executives
  • Excellent presentational, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical topics to a non-technical audience clearly and concisely
  • Native-level fluency in English

Desirable

  • Experience supporting sales of data-centric products in the Insurance and/or Financial Technology sectors
  • Experience in financial modelling of solutions proposed
  • Experience with cloud-based software-as-a-service technologies
  • Familiarity with APIs and flat-file data transfer technologies including how they work and the relevant open standards associated with them
