Senior Agile Business Analyst

We’re entering a period of expansion as we look to grow our products and platforms to meet the demands within the insurance telematics sector. We need mission analysts to help deliver our products as well as continue to build and evolve our BA practice.

The role is part of The Floow’s Product Group comprising of product owners, and designers

The role belongs to The Floow’s Product Organisation reporting into the Head of Product.  In this role, you will work within the product squad(s), liaising with internal and external stakeholders.  You will be accountable for supporting Product Owners and Product Designers with the quality of discovery, requirements elicitation and management, ensuring that the end product meets the project objectives.  You will be a core member of our Product team working closely with our Product leadership and engineering teams to ensure we build our products correctly.

Previous Business/ Product Analyst experience is required, together with experience on scrum/agile  product development and delivery in mobile or digital environments. Having an insurtech / Insurance background would be a plus in this role but it is not required.

Your accountabilities: 

  • Working closely with your partnered product owner across a number of squads, Products and Features.
  • Working with the Head of Product to understand the overall product strategy and roadmaps with a key understanding of the value the work is aiming to drive.
  • Working closely with Product Owners to understand WHAT we are trying to achieve and help to work on HOW we get there.
  • Working closely with development teams, guild leads and other technical leadership to ensure backlogs have required technical detail to avoid confusion and delays in delivering new products / features.
  • Coach and mentor other Business Analysts in both analysis skills and applications knowledge.
  • Support the Business Analysis community of practice, sharing knowledge, skills and experience to improve the Business analysis processes and deliverables
  • Research into feasibility of requests, and elicitation and gathering of requirements and produce documentation including diagrams using relevant modelling tools
  • Work collaboratively with the squads to break down features into user stories and shape these into feasible solutions for delivery
  • Ensure Stories meet the Squad’s agreed Definition of Ready/Done
  • Assist the Product Owners with definitions of the Product Roadmap, MVP’s and features
  • Assist the Product Owners with providing the data to support more informed prioritisation
  • Facilitate Requirements Capture, Backlog Refinements & Retrospectives

 

You will have: 

  • A proven track record of working on successful digital/mobile products. 
  • Experience and strong understanding of product & agile development methodologies and tools.
  • An extensive  business analysis background with knowledge and experience of setting up capable agile BA teams
  • Good understanding of Agile Values, Principals, and methodologies.
  • Strong planning and execution skills and ability to drive things home within squads. 
  • Strong analytical skills to make data-driven decisions, define and measure product KPIs. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial approach with clear bias for informed action and ability to perform with little supervision is highly desirable.
  • Experience with B2B products and understanding the difference between user and client needs would be a plus
  • Understanding of what makes a good User Story – acceptance criteria, BDD, practical application of INVEST principles, ensuring the Stories meet the agreed Definition of Ready
  • Experience of working in a complex technical environment undertaking analysis activities, modelling and design.
