In September 2017, The Floow opened our first office outside the UK in Detroit, Michigan and I’m proud to say I was asked to head up the North American operation. Over the last eight months, our experienced team of telematics professionals has grown significantly, and we’ve worked hard to ensure The Floow’s name and reputation for partner-centricity continues to grow on this side of the Atlantic.
After demoing our FloowDrive platform at the Dig-In conference in Austin, Texas this week with Director of Business Development, Nathan George, I felt now would be a great time to reflect on some of our achievements over the last few months. There’s been so many great milestones it was difficult to narrow them down, but here are a few of my favorites:
- One of my proudest moments was having a part in the launch of FloowDrive in the US. I presented the platform alongside our CEO, Aldo Monteforte, at The Connected Vehicles Insurance and IOT Conference in Chicago. We demoed the platform and its capabilities to a room of industry experts from across North America, and it was great to instantly see such an enthusiastic reaction to FloowDrive. Based on the positive feedback we’ve received since its launch, we feel the industry was poised and ready for a product like FloowDrive to push the market forward.
- Having the chance to build relationships and work with a number of amazing partners and organizations who are passionate about the future of insurance and the benefits telematics technology can provide to products and policyholders is extremely inspiring. The Floow was built on the mission of making mobility safer and smarter for everyone; it’s great to see the companies we’re working with (and talking with) feel as strongly about this mission as the The Floow team.
- I have the opportunity to work for a company that encourages insurers to build their own unique IP on top of our core scoring algorithm. I see this as a great strength of The Floow’s offering as it allows insurers to train their claims data against our trusted algorithms to improve their scores and optimally predict claims. Our latest data shows this unique approach delivers our partners three times the profitability per telematics customer versus those in a “traditional” class plan. Most importantly, the insights derived from this collaborative approach becomes the sole IP of our partners which can create true market differentiation.
- To top all these accomplishments, it was recently announced that The Floow was shortlisted for the Industry Choice Company of the Year award and Aldo was shortlisted for the Influencer of the Year award at the TU Automotive Awards Ceremony which takes place in Detroit this June. To earn this recognition less than a year after opening the doors of our Detroit office is an indication to us and the industry that our message and approach is being noticed across the US market, and that our partners trust us to deliver for them in the long-term.
I’m honored to be leading the development and growth of The Floow in the US, and as proud as I am with how far we’ve already come, I know there is still plenty to do. We’re committed to working hard to ensure The Floow’s name is synonymous with excellence, trusted partnerships and high quality, innovative telematics solutions that can change the face of mobility.
